Volleyball-based Fitness & Performance Training. Rise Above.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN FMS CLASS AND STRENGTH AND CONDITIONING?
FMS class will assess your current movement patterns and make a specialized fitness training program based on your abilities. The philosophy "Move Well, Move Often" means that we will correct and improve any movement patterns, imbalances, or mobility and strength deficits before we add load and repetition. I believe in training smarter, not harder, and in making your training sport-specific. Volleyball players need to have excellent shoulder stability, core strength, reaction time, and jump technique, amongst many other things. These are just a few of the things we will focus on.
WHERE DOES FMS CLASS TAKE PLACE?
For group training, classes can take place at your high school gym or volleyball club. For non-team affiliated small-group training we will rent a gym space convenient to the athletes. For individual sessions, I can travel to you.
HOW LONG DOES A CLASS TYPICALLY LAST?
Plan on one hour for FMS classes. This includes a few minutes of warm up and a few minutes of breathwork to cool down at the end. Please arrive early to be ready to go at the arranged time.

Beach volleyball training sessions will be 1.5 - 2 hours. Contact me for details!
I'M NOT A VOLLEYBALL PLAYER. CAN I STILL DO FMS TRAINING?
Although my training programs are geared toward volleyball players, I have worked with softball, basketball, and soccer players, as well as dancers! The strengths and weaknesses of each type of athlete, as well as what is required of them, tend to vary by individual, as well as by sport.
I would be happy to work with you regardless your sport - keep in mind group training will be geared toward volleyball (but can benefit many types of athletes), whereas individual training I will tailor toward your specific sport.
DO I NEED TO SIGN UP WITH AÂ GROUP IF I WANT TO DO GROUP TRAINING?
If you have a group of teammates or friends, that's great! If not, contact me and I will try to arrange a group of athletes whose days and times will work to train together. You do not need to have a group together when signing up, but groups are welcome!
